Meet Dr. Aeja Jackson
Hi, I’m Aeja—scientist, mentor, and passionate advocate for equity in STEM and healthcare. My journey into health research and mentoring began with a deep curiosity about science and an even deeper desire to make a difference in communities that often go unseen in data, decisions, and opportunities.
With a Ph.D. in Integrated Biomedical Sciences and advanced training in Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Real-World Evidence (RWE), I’ve spent over six years designing and leading research that improves health outcomes and centers the patient voice. From oncology to neurology to chronic disease, I’ve worked across therapeutic areas to generate real-world insights that inform better care, smarter decisions, and more inclusive health systems.
But beyond the research, my purpose lives in mentorship. As a Black woman in science, I know firsthand the barriers that exist for scholars from underrepresented backgrounds—and I believe deeply in helping to break them down. I coach and mentor scholars in STEM from disenfranchised communities, helping them gain not only career skills, but confidence, clarity, and community.
Whether I’m writing peer-reviewed publications, speaking on panels, or guiding a scholar, my work is rooted in one truth: data can change lives—but only if everyone is in the data and at the table.
If you’re a scholar looking for guidance, a partner interested in meaningful research, or an organization ready to prioritize equity in your work—I’d love to connect.
